listenin' too long, to one song

QUESTION: What do you guys listen to when you're running? I think I need some new running music. My most favorite song EVER to run to is Sing Me Spanish Techno. If that helps. With the recommending. PLEASE RECOMMEND SOMETHING. If you don't, I fear that soon I will stop running and fall to my knees on the sidewalk and just cry.

Speaking of music (wow, nice segue, Jennie), I went to a concert this weekend and it rocked my face off. My whole face. Fell off. Onto the floor. And then I picked it up and washed it off, because gross, it fell on the floor at a concert. Anyway, We Are Scientists were the ones responsible for my face falling on the floor. I'd be upset, but it was a really good show.

You know what happened, though? I spilled my beer. I mean, this is not unusual. It happens a lot, actually. But this time, it so wasn't my fault. I was just sitting there, minding my own business, when all the sudden my beer bottle was upside down, trapped between my leg and the wall. And I was all, "What the hell? No one was even touching the table! UNFAIR UNFAIR I WANT MY BEER WAAAAAAAAAH." Then I noticed that all of the bottles kept slowly inching toward me and no one was even touching them, because the music was so loud that the table was vibrating, which was making the bottles move AND IT WAS CRAZY. Like Poltergeist crazy, but not really, because no one got sucked into the TV. Anyway. So that happened. Also, we saw this girl slump over a table and throw up on the floor. Amateur. Also also, Kat, they had PBR in cans.

Also also also, this was written in one of the bathroom stalls:

bathroom graffiti

and I didn't even write it.

hmm... the hold steady is pretty good to run to, as is les savy fav. and i've had some success with ryan adams's rock n roll album.

The concert-going crowd is becoming pretty hardcore with their bathroom graffiti these days. Kids today and their crazy book-readin'.

If you like to run to New Pornographers (that sounds awesome), other good tracks are "Use It," "All the Things That Go To Make Heaven and Earth," "All For Swinging You Around," and "Electric Version." Also "The Bleeding Heart Show" is fun, even if it starts off slow, because it's in that University of Phoenix ad, so you'll start laughing to yourself as you're running. (Note: only if you're a dork like I am.)

Kings of Leon and Of Montreal are pretty good to run to, too.

I'm going to send you some samples, but there is this song called "Come On" by The Panderers that is fun to run to. I'll keep thinking....

Some people can run on the treadmill and watch TV at the same time. I cannot, it makes me very dizzy.

(This was no help. Sorry.)

I have a CD I can send you. However, it's the only running CD I have so once you've gathered all these recs, can you send them to me too?

I ran once when there was a bear chasing me. It was awful. Next time I think I'll let him eat me.

I love to row to Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis. Probably too ... mature... (old, I'm old, just type it) but since you love Ring of Fire, perhaps they'd work for you.

Muse's Supermassive Black Hole is my go-to running song. And I kind of hate myself for this, but also Rihanna.

I agree about Muse, except really, the whole CD. And also, I have this thing where when I'm exercising I like to listen to songs I would normally despise. Like Leavin' by Aaron Carter, Low by Flo Rida, Shake It by Metro Station (actually I just really like that song). Also I like MGMT, and Lord help me, When I Grow Up by the Pussycat Dolls. DID I JUST TYPE THAT.

That sure looks like your handwriting!

"Cobrastyle" by Robyn. I'm sure you're familiar with Mickey Avalon, if not, "Jane Fonda" is fun to run to. And same goes for M.I.A. "Paper Planes."

free classic books, downloadable via mp3. no one on the running trail will be able to touch your nerd factor of pi to the 7th power.

you can thank me later.

no one can say they truly love books unless they are downloading books onto their iPods. NO ONE.
